The Company
Background
Evan Rees (Butter) Ltd was established in June 1989 when the present owner and Managing Director purchased the assets, including machines and equipment, from its former owner Evan Rees Ltd.
A lot of people ask us how we make the butter, however they are very surprised when we tell them that we don’t actually manufacture butter from cream. We source butter already made in bulk form, from a number of approved sources from Wales, UK and from many countries throughout the world. We are able to blend different butters together to give that extra special taste, which makes our brands unique. We work to many different recipes driven purely by customer requirements. The butter is prepared, blended and then packed by high speed automated wrapping machines to produce a range of different sizes, from 7g catering portions for pubs and hotels, through to conventional retail packs of 250g which you see in your supermarket today. We are also able to blend butter with a number of different ingredients for industrial markets in 25kg blocks, as well as packing 227g, 454g and 500g for the export market.
The Factory
The factory is a purpose built, self contained unit, comprising all modern facilities and includes two cold stores, with a total capacity of several hundred tonnes. The 1.2 acre compound is situated on the Swansea Enterprise Park, in close proximity to the M4 motorway, for easy receipt of supplier materials and delivery of products.
The clean and modern factory is capable of handling several hundred tone of butter per week. The highly skilled workforce is managed by a dedicated and committed Management Team overseeing all aspects of the business.
